Rebuilding schools destroyed by flooding and Tornadoes in Purbor and Torkiel, Republic of South Sudan

The goal of this proposal is to secure the funding needed to rebuild two schools destroyed by floods in the Purbor and Torkiel areas of the Republic of South Sudan.

Construction of the schools will contribute to the following outcomes benefitting the communities:

  • Increased literacy and basic education skills for both children and adult populations.
  • Acquisition of knowledge and skills needed to open doors to new commercial opportunities.
  • Laying the critical groundwork for community self-sustainment.
  • Decrease the numbers of at-risk and abandoned and orphaned children.
  • Improved quality of life for all.

What is needed

JED is actively seeking sponsors and partners to fund the reconstruction of two schools, one each in the Purbor and Torkiel villages. Thomas Nyang, JED’s lead, will work alongside members of the local communities at every step of the project’s development. He will also be responsible for providing regular project reports to sponsors and partners.
